Serves as the marketing liaison, managing interactions with a cross- functional team of brand, creative, business, production, legal and technical resources Writes and presents creative brief for execution by creative team Schedules meetings, and ensures routings and reviews are compliant and complete Reviews creative routing for effective direct marketing strategy Manages and implements “test owner” processes for Brand Managers • Responsible for developing an understanding of target market consumer insights Collaborates with Brand Manager to implement insights during creative development process Collaborates with Brand Manager to develop pipeline of testable ideas, claims and features that resonate with target market • Optimizes marketing communications strategy based on test results, consumer insights, and competitive/market movements Leverages learnings from other lines of business Coordinates with Brand Manager to ensure consistency across all marketing channels • Keeps updated on industry trends and competitive insights and shares findings with broader team Experience: 2+ years experience in an organizational role, preferably in a marketing or agency environment. Preferred: 2+ years Direct Mail experience, or fast-paced, agency environment managing multiple projects for multiple customers/accounts. Industry Knowledge: Confident in leading marketing projects for multiple clients, ideally Direct Mail solicitations for the financial industry or ad agency with multiple client/industry focuses. Proven ability to quickly ramp up on expectations of client. Actively researches, learns and incorporates new means and methods whenever and wherever possible to improve processes. Technical Knowledge: MS Word - 3+, MS Excel - 3+, MS Project - 1 + (a plus), Acrobat - 1 + Comments: This is NEW AGAIN. They need one more SMM and everyone who was submitted for position 1 has been rejected for both (besides the one guy who got it). This is for the CREATIVE pod of DIRECT MARKETING. When a new idea comes to litght, the creative pod is given a fairly fleshed out idea or concept...the idea is complete, the research has been done to see if it works, competitive analysis is done, etc... What the POD does is ensure that the actual marketing piece will stick to the BRANDING concept and message the client is trying to maintain. They need to be able to keep focus on the brand message while also making sure the i's are dotted and t's crossed when it comes to meeting specs and regulations for the actual piece. They want someone who comes from a background of dealing with Consumer Insight - able to leverage and crate testing hypothesis. They want someone who will question, challenge, and work with the entire creative team. MUST HAVES: Client facing marketing management experience Process and project management experience Understand test plans (Creative here not IT).
