HomeAgain Executive Director
HomeAgain, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency shelter and transitional shelter for Richmond’s temporarily homeless, seeks to hire an Executive Director. As the leader of the organization, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that HomeAgain achieves its strategic goals, fulfills its program commitments, meets its fundraising objectives, and delivers effective services to its clients. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for implementation of Board policies and goals including the financial, program, and administrative management of HomeAgain. Primary responsibilities include: · Leading HomeAgain and its staff in the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans to ensure effective delivery of programs; · Spearheading the organization’s fundraising efforts (including strategic planning, researching potential funding sources, securing governmental and private grants), ensuring that HomeAgain meets its fundraising objectives; · Overall fiscal management of HomeAgain (including developing and managing HomeAgain’s annual budget); · Fostering relationships and strategic partnerships with other organizations (e.g., Homeward, McGuire Veterans Medical Center, Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, Regional HUD field office, United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg, and local, state and national organizations focused on homelessness); · Overseeing the administration and implementation of HomeAgain’s programs; and · Supervising HomeAgain’s staff, ensuring consistent application of personnel policies and promoting the staff’s professional development. Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; · Experience serving vulnerable client populations; · Seven years of experience managing programs, negotiating and administering grants and supervising personnel, at least five of which involved leadership responsibilities; · Proven ability to fundraise, solicit and obtain government grants, manage program and/or organization’s budgets, and produce and interpret financial reports; · Demonstrated ability to leverage relationships with community stakeholders to advance organization’s mission; and · Excellent oral and written communication skills; highly effective interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: · Master’s of Social Work or master’s degree in a closely related field from an accredited university; · Significant experience serving homeless or other vulnerable populations; and · Demonstrated record of leadership in a non-profit organization and ability to implement the organization’s mission and attain its objectives while ensuring programmatic and operational excellence.
