-- Carl ====================================== Test Engineer Primary Job Function Validation of software products for the telecommunication sector against their requirements. Key Job Responsibilities * Development and execution of manual and automated test cases for multiple releases of telephony and web based applications * Perform regression testing and bug fix verification. * Exploration of software to uncover more transient and subtle, often very complex, problems Experience / Education Requirements • 0-3 years experience testing systems or undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum 3.0 GPA Technical Experience/Requirements * Ability to read and interpret technical specifications * Good verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in English is required. Optional Knowledge * Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages * Proficiency in a Unix or Linux environment. * Experience with IP based networks and networking equipment * Familiarity with any of the following protocols: H.323, SIP, RTP, SMPP, SMTP, IMAP, SOAP, LDAP * Familiarity with any form of automated testing. Other Required Competencies * Self Motivated - Motivated to achieve because of one's own enthusiasm or interest, without needing pressure from others. * Critical Thinking - Asks questions that go beyond the obvious. Can apply previous learning to new situations. Considers both short-term and long-term implications of recommendations. Can make sound recommendations and decisions that are based on thorough analysis of issues. * Attention to detail - Assumes responsibility for a problem and follows it through completely to resolution including documenting all communications and work done. * Team Player - Includes partnering, teamwork, building alliances, establishing and maintaining key relationships.
