Extensive knowledge and experience using Symantec (Veritas) Netbackup and backup/recovery practices, considerable knowledge of Symantec (Veritas) Storage Foundation and SAN/NAS technology and storage administration, knowledge of VMware; Microsoft (Windows 2000, 2003, XP), LAN/WAN technology, network/infrastructure architecture; Cisco technology

Software proficiency - SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, SMS, Altiris, DNS, McAfee, Visio and all Microsoft Products

Primary responsibilities include data backup and restoration of Windows servers and management of the Symantec clustering software. This includes developing and maintaining documentation of backup processing, backup failure remediation, tracking tape cartridge utilization and reorder points, satisfying data restore requests and providing assistance with agency specific investigations (as they relate to the restoration of files).
Provides project planning and implementation of backup and storage projects; should be able to prioritize tasks and make hardware and software recommendations.
