* 8+ years overall IT experience including database development, architecture and design, and distributed applications development
* Experience with Microsoft development technologies with 3+ years experience using .NET framework, Microsoft Visual C# / .NET and AJAX.

Description: Provides technology services to non-profit organizations throughout the US, including non-profit search information, research tools, compensation tools, software and web services and current market activity and trend information.



Looking to hire a .Net Developer as a contractor to augment the work of their experienced development team to design, develop, and maintain software, web and database applications including server-side and client-side web components.



Responsibilities:

* Interact with business community in gathering business requirements
* Responsible for interpreting business requirements and use case functionality in order to code and develop programs that meet the expectations of the business
* Takes on additional roles as an architect
* Work with managers, business analysts, architects, QA/DBA to coordinate development efforts and align release schedules
* Works with database personnel to assist with database design and replication to support present/future business applications.
* Evaluate, configure, install, and maintain web and SQL database applications
* Support web applications by resolving business problems
* Act as a source of information of web and database technologies and development techniques

* Develop data centric applications with ADO.net, XML and AJAX.
* Build secure web-based, transaction intensive applications
* Web Services development

* Develop and use of database objects with T-SQL (SQL Server 2000/2005)
* Develop XML-based database application solutions
* Tier 2 technical support



Working Relationships: Will work with a team of developers and must have that "team mentality". Interact business community in execution of responsibilities; may eventually work with vendors in seeking solutions to initiatives.



Interview process: Initial phone screen with Manager and developers, then in-person or phone screen interview with development team.



Location: Williamsburg, VA - contractors do not need to be from the area. The right candidate will have the option to work remotely after spending first few weeks on-site.
