Perform tactical planning for Enterprise Networks and be responsible for the planning, and engineering of Enterprise Networks to meet user requirements. Develop and document network application performance and capacity issues. Manage research and development activities in preparation for the introduction and integration of new and leading edge technology and assist with the evaluation of newer networking technology and with the migration plan for users to move to these new technologies. This migration planning involves the consideration of: (a) network topologies, (b) internetworking protocols on the backbone, (c) reliability and maintainability, (d) network management, (e) cost analysis. Work with Project Managers to determine networking requirements and provide the Enterprise users with the best solutions to their networking problems from an institutional perspective. Analyze network traffic data and interpret network traffic data (long-range capacity planning) as well as perform network modeling for performance assessment, enterprise network architecture and "what-if" scenario analysis. Analyze and report network utilization and growth. Produce trend analysis, network error and capacity planning reports. Assist in the development of capacity planning processes including incorporating predictive analysis tools into the capacity planning process. Product evaluation, recommendation, and planning abilities to provide the network management, capacity and performance, trending, and disaster recovery solutions associated with maintaining LAN and WAN platforms. Roles and Responsibilities: * Network Capacity Trending * Management of Application Overlay * Development of a Capacity Management Process, Procedure, and Reports * Assuring Service Level Compliance Metrics are met Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * 5+ Years of Experience in Working on a Transformation Project with extensive geographic reach. * 5+ Years Industry Leadership in Capacity Planning and Reporting * 5 years telecommunications and management experience. * Experience in configuration, test, and turn up of new routers and switches (Cisco & Juniper) * Leadership in VOIP Engineering * Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Military Background is preferred but not mandatory * Previous Experience within Verizon Business is a plus Must be able to obtain a secret clearance Send resume to Collins Denny, collinsd@lesr-it.com |
